In addition to designing and modeling the glasses, you are required to select the museum for which your project is intended and become familiar enough with the mission, aesthetic and \u201cbrand\u201d of the museum to make informed design decisions. The 4 glasses required for this project are:<\/p>\n<p><b>Juice Glass<\/b><br \/>\nintended for juices<br \/>\ncan hold 6 fluid ounces<\/p>\n<p><b>Water Glass<\/b><br \/>\nintended for water<br \/>\ncan hold 12 fluid ounces<\/p>\n<p><b>Pint Glass<\/b><br \/>\nintended for beer<br \/>\ncan hold 1 pint<\/p>\n<p><b>Wine Glass<\/b><br \/>\nintended for a variety of wines<br \/>\ncan hold 5 fluid ounces<\/p>\n<p><b>Design Criteria:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Glasses are to be manufactured in glass.<\/li>\n<li>Glasses must hold the indicated volume, leaving adequate room below the rim of the glass to allow for convenient filling, transport and consumption without spilling. The wine glass should be about half full when the indicated volume is contained.<\/li>\n<li>Consider the concerns of the institution, the end user, and the food service staff.<\/li>\n<li>Consider the physical and utilitarian context your design will be a part of, as well as the aesthetic and cultural atmosphere of the museum.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t pander to the lowest common denominator or mock your client or end user. Assume that your job is to elevate and dignify this small but significant experience for museum patrons<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Learning Outcomes:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rhino\n<ul>\n<li>Experience Navigating the Rhino workspace<\/li>\n<li>Basic proficiency with drawing and transforming tools<\/li>\n<li>Translating a design from hand sketch into a digital modelling space<\/li>\n<li>Ability to use Object Snaps and other Modeling Aids to effectively create precise polycurves<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency using the Revolve tool to create radially symmetric models<\/li>\n<li>Ability to create solid models and to take measurements of their volumes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Keyshot\n<ul>\n<li>Configuring a rhino model for export to a keyshot scene<\/li>\n<li>Experience Applying and modifying materials to represent glass and liquids that replicate your design intention<\/li>\n<li>Experience Applying and modifying lighting environments<\/li>\n<li>Ability to create high resolution renderings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Evaluation Criteria<br \/>\n<\/b>A= Excellent<br \/>\nB= Above Average<br \/>\nC= Average<br \/>\nD= Poor<br \/>\nF= Failing<\/p>\n<p><b>Practical<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Does the design satisfy the design criteria?<\/li>\n<li>Does the Rhino model follow the submission criteria?<\/li>\n<li>Does the rendering follow the stated requirements?<\/li>\n<li>Does the screenshot follow the stated requirements?<\/li>\n<li>Does the written paragraph follow the stated requirements?<\/li>\n<li>Does the Google Doc follow the submissions criteria?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Craft<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are the sketches clear and expressive?<\/li>\n<li>Are the curves drawn with an appropriate number of control points?<\/li>\n<li>Are the models <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.mcneel.com\/rhino\/soliddiscussion\">solid<\/a>?<\/li>\n<li>Are the models sized according to the requirements?<\/li>\n<li>Is the Rhino file neatly and deliberately organized?<\/li>\n<li>Is the written paragraph free from typos, spelling errors, grammatical mistakes, etc?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Design<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is the design appropriate for the chosen setting?<\/li>\n<li>Does the design satisfy the functional and usability requirements?<\/li>\n<li>Does the design reflect the qualities described in the written paragraph?<\/li>\n<li>Is the design suitable for production in glass?<\/li>\n<li>Does the design exhibit inspired, thoughtful, engaged form-giving?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Rendering<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Does the rendering effectively communicate the form and materials of the design?<\/li>\n<li>Is the composition attractive and well thought-out?<\/li>\n<li>Is the image of a high quality?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Drinking Glasses Design and model a family of 4 drinking glasses for use in a museum that has a full service cafe.
